In an era of intense price competition, manufacturing in Taiwan comes at a significantly higher cost. As leather-goods production has moved overseas, fewer young craftspeople have chosen to enter the industry.
What remains especially valuable to us is our team of seven craftspeople, with an average age of 27, continuing the craft here in Taiwan.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is the leather water-resistant and scratch-resistant?
A: Leather with strong water and scratch resistance usually relies on a heavy surface coating, which reduces its natural feel. UNSIMPLE chooses not to use this kind of heavily coated leather. For most leathers, a suitable protective spray can provide basic water resistance.
・Beige: We do not apply protective spray, as it would affect the leather’s natural touch and patina development.
・Light Brown / Dark Green: Treated with a protective spray. The nubuck surface is highly resistant to wear and scratches and is relatively easy to care for.
・Black: Treated with a protective spray. Aside from occasional conditioning, it is relatively resistant to dirt.
Q: When will my order ship?
A: Within 5–7 days.
Q: If I have already placed an order, can I change the colour or combination if new options become available later?
A: Yes. Changes can be arranged, subject to availability.
Q: Does it fit NT$1,000 notes?
A: Yes. It comfortably holds around 7 banknotes. At around 10, the corners may crease if the notes are not aligned carefully; up to 15 can fit if that is not a concern.
Q: What about warranty and repairs?
A: UNSIMPLE has its own team of craftspeople producing our work. If the hardware or stitching develops a problem, we can usually complete the repair within 3–4 days. As long as UNSIMPLE is here, we will continue to support our products.
Q: How do I send it in for repair?
A: 1. Bring it to our Songshan store and our team will assist you. 2. Contact us through our social page and send the item to our workshop. We will return it after repair. You only need to cover round-trip shipping; there is no repair fee.
